Key Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and maintain cloud infrastructure using IaC tools (e.g. Terraform, CloudFormation).
- Implement, monitor, and optimize CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments.
- Ensure reliability and scalability: autoscaling, load balancing, disaster recovery, high availability.
- Work with developers to migrate on-prem or monolithic applications to cloud-native architectures (e.g. microservices, containers, serverless).
- Configure and manage monitoring, logging, and alerting systems (e.g. Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana).
- Maintain cloud security best practices—network segmentation, IAM, encryption, secrets management.
- Manage cost optimization: rightsizing, reserved instances, spot instances, usage reporting.
- Participate in incident response, post-mortems, and continuous improvement.
- Document infrastructure, runbooks, and system recovery procedures.
Required Skills & Experience
- 5-10 years of experience designing and operating cloud infrastructure (AWS / Azure / Google Cloud).
- Strong knowledge of infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation, Pulumi).
- Experience with containers and container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Solid understanding of networking (VPC/VNet, DNS, load balancing, VPN).
- Expertise in security practices (IAM, encryption at rest / in transit, WAF, secrets management).
- Experience setting up and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (GitOps nice to have).
- Monitoring, logging, and observability experience (e.g. Prometheus, ELK, Datadog).
- Good scripting skills (Python, Bash, PowerShell) and Linux systems administration.
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience with serverless architectures (Lambda, Functions, etc.).
- Experience with hybrid or multi-cloud deployments.
- Familiarity with compliance requirements (ISO/IEC 27001, SOC 2, GDPR).
- Experience with cost optimization tools and reporting.
